Packing List for Mississipping the Kayak

First, sorry for the awkward formatting. I understand that it’s fairly difficult to navigate (especially from phones), but continue reading because it’s worth the struggle. I loved writing this post and I think you’ll see that.

Below is a list of everything I will be taking with me. Each item must meet one of two requirements: A) must be ABSOLUTELY necessary to survival or B) if it’s not completely paramount to survival than it must serve more than one legitimate purpose.
I would certainly like to take less, but I don’t think there is anything on this list that I could go without.

This list is subject to change, but I can’t imagine a legitimate way that I would add to or take from this list. I could see a situation where I might buy stamps and envelopes in town, but beyond that, I don’t think this list will change.

This has been my second favorite post only to that time I found my purpose. To put this in perspective, though, I challenge you to make a list of all the things that you find absolutely necessary to use for the the next forty days and stick to that list. It wasn’t easy, but it offered the Freedom from Stuff that I was looking for.

  1. Wait, you have a cup holder? I mean, I’ve got something as part of my seat I cam wedge a plastic water bottle but nothing a Starbucks cup could fit into… Tell me more!

    1. Heck yeah! The cup holder sits right between my legs (I have an open-faced kayak, maybe that’s the difference?). It fits all cups, like a car cup holder. It’s pretty boss. I haven’t looked extensively into your website yet, but what do/have you ‘yaked? If you’re in the neighborhood of the Mississippi, I’m welcoming all paddlers to join, so you’re welcome to come with for some or all of the journey. It should be pretty burly with the river levels!

      1. Definitely not in the Mississippi area… I’m in Washington, but thanks for the invite 🙂

Sit on top probably makes a difference, yeah, that is definitely awesome!!!
